Let's Add Up - Class V Activity

Let's Add Up activity was conducted in class 5 for chapter -2 to enhance the knowledge of students about Addition  through  numbers they come across in their day to day life. Students were given task to record numbers from number plates of 5 cars they see in their neighbourhood and  add the last four digits to obtain the sum . 

Some of the students presented their activity sheet beautifully by using their creative skills.

Finding the Large Number Activity Class 4

Finding the Large Number Activity was conducted in class 4. The students explored large numbers in their surroundings through this activity .

They were asked to collect and tabulate the different type of large numbers they see around them. Students participated actively and came up with different large numbers they see in their day to day life.Example a 10 digit mobile number, 8 digit pin code , bank account number etc.

Playing Cards - Class 5 Activity

Playing Cards activity was conducted in Class V. Each student was given some number cards with 2-5 digit  number written on them. They were suppose to add the numbers on the cards mentally and tell the sum.

This activity was further done in a pair, the students added their sum with their partner's sum to obtain a bigger sum. Similarly ,they subtracted their sum from their partner's sum.

Order -Order- Class 5 Activity

Order- order Activity was conducted in Class -5. The class was divided into groups of four and five. Each group was given some number cards, they were asked to make the largest and smallest possible number using their 9 digits reaching upto hundred millions.

The greatest and the smallest numbers formed in each group was written on the board.

 The students  arranged the numbers obtained from all the groups in ascending/descending order.

Number Around Us-Class 4 Activity

Activity Number Around Us was conducted in Class -4 .Students were asked to write their mother's or father's mobile numbers on a card. They were asked about the number of digits in each mobile number . 

Students were guided to read and write number names of such large numbers using Indian place value chart which was extended beyond thousand place. 

Roll the Dice Activity class 5

Roll the dice activity was conducted in class 5 where students worked in pair. A number strip and a dice was given to each pair. Students rolled the dice chance wise .They noted down each number until nine boxes were filled. 

Each pair grouped the digits by putting commas according to Indian place value system as well as International place value system. They also mentioned the number name in both place value system for the obtained number

Class 5 Activity - World of Numbers

The activity was conducted in class V for Chapter 1 Numbers upto  99,99,99,999 

  ,the teacher  divided the class students into groups.Each group was given a newspaper.

Students were asked to find 6 to 7 – digit numbers in the newspaper and cut them out.

They pasted the numbers on an A-4 sheet and write their number name.
