Visit to Nehru Memorial Museum & Library

On 27 August ,2016, our School organised an educational trip to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library . Class III - VI CBSE i students had the opportunity to visit the  Museum where they were introduced to interesting details from the life of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with pictorial exhibits.

The Museum at Teen Murti House has been primarily developed as a personalia museum. Some of the rooms, such as the bedroom, the drawing room and the study have been preserved as they were at the time of Jawaharlal Nehru’s death.
The Museum portrays through visual media the life and work of a heroic individual, who was the leader of India’s struggle for freedom, the architect of modern India, and a passionate champion of world peace. It gives an intimate glimpse of Nehru’s rich and complex personality.

A walk down the museum, however, reveals that it is not "only about Nehru". Its exhibits paint a holistic portrait of how the country wrought its freedom.

The museum documents the formation of the Congress and the Muslim League. Large sections are dedicated to the various movements initiated by the Congress, like the Quit India Movement, Swadeshi Movement, the Non-cooperation Movement and the Boycott Movement. It also houses exhibits which illuminate various Muslim voices in the freedom movement, furnished with photographs of leading figures like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Dr MA Ansari and Maulana Mohammed Ali.
