World book Day 23 April




 World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, is celebrated across the globe on April 23 every year. World Book Day is celebrated to recognise and promote the benefit of reading books, publishing and copyright. World Book Day is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). This year will be the 25th edition of World Book Day.

April 23 is observed as World Book Day because several prominent authors were either born or have died on this day. While William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes and Josep Pla died on April 23, Manuel Mejia Vallejo and Maurice Druon were born on April 23.

Earth Day Activity Class V


The students of Class V Cambridge International , enthusiastically participated in various activities to commemorate our benevolent Mother Earth. On the occasion of the Earth Day, a creative activity " Protecting Planet Earth" lift the flap activity was organized with a view to sensitize the children about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful.

Activity sheet of Rounding off to the nearest 10 was given in class III for recapitulation of the concept. 




 

Let's Go shopping activity Class III


Let's Go shopping activity was conducted in Class III A to enrich the knowledge of rounding off to the nearest 10.Students were asked to purchase any five items from the given list of items.Write the price of the items and round the prices to the nearest 10.Students enthusiastically participated in the activity.








 

World Heritage Day celebration Class V

India is one country which is honoured for its rich cultural heritage and art forms all over the world. Many famous personalities have acknowledged India’s role in preserving its heritage with exceptional efforts and emotions. Mark Twain, a famous American writer said:

“India is the cradle of Human race,
The birthplace of speech,
The mother of history,
The grandmother of legends, and
The great grandmother of traditions.
Our most valuable and constructive materials in the history of man
is treasured up in India only. “

Paying a humble tribute to the rich cultural heritage of our country, World Heritage Day was celebrated with much anticipation by the students of class VA Cambridge International on 17th April 2021.Students discussed need of preserving our heritage, required steps towards conserving India’s heritage were also shared. A worksheet on the same was given to the students.

Babasaheb Ambedkar Birth anniversary celebration

Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on 14th April and the class started with a short talk on the illustrious son of India, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, popularly called Babasaheb Ambedkar, who was one of the major architects of the Indian constitution. During the discussion, several students came forward to share interesting facts from the life of Dr. Ambedkar along with explaining the significance of the fundamental rights laid down in our Constitution as also paying tribute to the Father of our Constitution.

 During our online classes, we attempt to highlight the important festivals and national holidays observed around our country. So, with Baisakhi and Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti around the corner, the students of class VA took it upon themselves to mark these occasions with a special discussion session.








Activity Roll the Dice in class 4

Roll the Dice activity was conducted in class IV to enrich the concept of Rounding off. A virtual dice was rolled five times and all the digits were noted down, students were asked to make any five 5 digit numbers using those 5 digits .Then they were told to round them to the nearest 10. All the students actively participated.

Navratri and Baisakhi Celebration -Morning assembly

 Baisakhi marks the Sikh New Year, hence is a significant day in the Indian calendar.It is also celebrated as a spring harvest festival. The spirit of Baisakhi was captured and shared with fellow students and teachers, by the students of Class- V Group 2 as they conducted the Special Assembly on Thursday, 13th April, 2021.Students demonstrated the importance and significance of Baisakhi through poems and song.They also shared the importance of Navratri.
